Letting consumers go isn’t easy for any retailer. Just ask Kmart. The retailer goes to great lengths to try to retain its customers on its email list, including offering alternative frequency options. Now, that’s a company that means to keep its customers’ business and attention. Email Institute and Multichannel Merchant examined how the retailer uses a simple approach to let consumer unsubscribe from its list, while it attempts to gain insight into the reasons for their departure.
