Now that Thanksgiving, Black Friday and Cyber Monday are behind us, the time for New Years Resolutions is here. To help get the creative juices flowing, I found some great New Years Quotes here.

I personally liked the anonymous quote:
“A New Year's resolution is something that goes in one Year and out the other.”

Resolutions also carry into our working lives as we will soon be asked to prepare our 2011 Business Goals.
To help get a jump on 2011, I’ve provided a few quick thoughts on Email programs to incorporate into your marketing plans, if you haven’t done so already. My selections are intended to help you capitalize leverage currently untapped opportunities and build efficiencies.

1.    Winback Strategy - Target inactive customers with a special offer or email once every 3 to 6 months for the purpose of reengaging them in your communication stream

2.    eAppend - Foster list growth by gaining valuable email addresses of current customers missing an email address.

3.    Automations - “Set it and Forget It” for any emails you can automate. This set up will save you and your colleagues valuable time and enable you to focus on other marketing streams. (Note: Remember to test creative to refresh and/or optimize performance.

4.   Preference Center - Let’s you capture valuable customer data to craft more relevant emails and maintain fresh email addresses.

5.   Continue incorporating Social and Mobile or risk missing the bus.

  • Like many marketers I continue to watch these two channels quickly evolve with the use of Social Listening to monitor the success of influencer and community strategies. I personally liken Social to grass roots marketing on speed.
  •  Mobile Marketing expands at lightning speed with the evolution of smartphones, iPhones, Androids and more.

Happy 2011.
